I recently got my Samsung Captivate and it works pretty well even the GPS however, when I try to update is manually it takes forever trying to connect to the server and in the end it never does and thus I cannot connect for another twenty-four hours.
So I said ok, i'll use Kies to update the phone, so I download Kies and try - however, the when I connect Kies says "The Device is not supported by Kies" and as such I cannot interact with my phone in this manner. Just got the phone I love it so far but I am having trouble connecting to yahoo mail from the defualt email feature on the phone. I tried the normal way of doing it and also tried the manual way as well.
The same message keeps popping up saying the usernamr or password is wrong. I am on Galaxo 1. I got my i two days a go and I'm still getting familiar with it and I need some help. My Samsung GS3 won't connect to my Uni's wifi. It connects to every other wifi, except my Uni's. I have a samsung Captivate, I am trying to root the phone, but whenever i put it in debugging the phone can't connect to my computer windows 7 x If I try and check again it tells me that 24 hours has not elapsed since I made my last request. My wife's phone will not connect to any wifi hotspot unless she is virtually sitting on the router. At home it is ok as the router is in the same room, but she has tried to connect to many wifi hotspots in public places and she can never connect as the signal is so weak.
Other people with iPhones, HTC etc connect with no problem, but hers will not do anything. Is this something that Froyo will address, or is it more a hardware issue with the SGS?
I have the same issue with 2 separate Vibrants, actually 3 Vibrants counting the one I took back. I have problems connecting to either the market or internet across multiple browsers while WiFi is on. With both phones, it seems this problem is intermittent and across different brands of routers at different locations. An example is when I try to enter the market.
I sometimes will get to the market home page but when I try to pull up my downloads it comes back with an error message saying connection failed. Once I turn off WiFi it works perfect in 3G, or if I leave WiFi on, go back to the home page and then try just a minute later it connects without a problem. To make matters even worse, the problem persists while using apps that connect to the internet such as The Weather Channel. The problem is very intermittent.
Sometimes I have no problems connecting, while other times it won't connect at all until I turn WiFi off or even reboot the phone. Both phones behave the same way. I've gotten to the point now where I just leave WiFi turned off because it's so unreliable. I know it's not the WiFi signal strength either as it is just as likely to happen with the phone a few feet away from the router's antenna as it is when it's 50 feet away.
After i clicked one of the option on complete action using, couple seconds later my internet comes back. So problem is that each time i try to watch a video my Wi-Fi Stops when on Web. But then I can watch videos through the Youtube application.
Also Another weird thing is that after the Wi-Fi reconnects My "Use packet data" setting is auto enabled again. Recently I have been having trouble getting a connection at my house. WiFi will work but not the Att internet. I also have had trouble sending and receiving picture messages, no master where I'm at. I may be wrong here as I am new to this whole game but I think I was able to load "restricted apps" by turning airplane mode on and then turning wifi back on.
I searched for and installed pdanet with no problem right from the marketplace. I'm trying to connect my phone to my network so I can use wifi. Its probably a router problem but their support was useless, so I thought I would try here. My wifi will turn on, but will scan for or connect to networks. I am trying to connect to my home wifi, its WEP security on a linksys router, but every time i try to connect it says unable to connect, also idk if there is supposed to be a wifi icon on the top bar but it does not show one at all, appreciate any feedback. I have a stock inc and for some reason it won't connect to my home WiFi network. It will connect to other wifi networks. I turned off WEP just to take that variable out of it.
No idea what the problem is. I have also hard reset it. Picked it up for him launch day and sent it out to Iraq the next day. He received it today. He had an Evo before the epic and never had this issue. My phone was working fine today until suddenly I couldn't place calls, send texts, recieve calls, or browse the internet on 3G. I still have bars like two but I can't get anything to work. Every once in a while there will be a pulse in signal bars and I'll update date and time.
Anyone know what's going on? No connectivity at all on my Captivate. Wifi networks can't be saved, and the 3G symbol is up there, but there's nothing being transmitted or received. Should I do a factory reset? The phone part works, as does messaging, but nothing else.
At my college we have this annoying web based login and my android phone doesn't like it. It connects easily but when I go to either browser or opera mobile it doesn't load the login page the browser still thinks it has no connection. Is there anyway to approach this in a better way or bypass the login or at least save it to automatically do it each time.
I need a wifi connection! I've had wifi in my house for years.
