The signals have an unobstructed range of about miles. Software on the computer displays the aircraft's identity, registration, owner etc. Most aircraft transmit a Flight ID and this is used to display the airline's logo and its route. The full screen display looks like this:. The network allows RadarBox users around the world to share the aircraft they receive with other users.
Only data from aircraft which are transmitting their position is shared. Incoming data is delayed by 5 minutes and updated every 30 seconds. You get a free 1-year subscription to this network when you buy the RadarBox. After the first year, there is an annual subscription. Alternatively you can subscribe to the real-time network, which costs more, where the data has no delay - you are seeing live info, updated every 20 seconds.
This is great to have, and particularly useful if your live view is obstructed and there are other users around you who can fill the gaps. Somewhat off topic: Where can I buy xRange receiver?
It is not listed in the AirNav store web page. Am not aware that it is for sale but support will be able to advise if that is the case Alan. X Range is not for sale yet and only been sent to improve gaps in coverage at the moment. Just like the comstation it can be used via the RadarBox software, which scans the local network for the device and connects to it. Just for info: To get the connection with my Comstation to work I needed to open a specific port in my firewall.
Greetings from northern Germany, Ingo Yes and I've asked support what the port is but they choose not to answer my request. I set my fw in a way that only data from local Network is accepted. Further CS ports: , and Maybe the xRange does use the same ports maybe it doesn't. I'll give a try when I get home tonight. Any help appreciated. Not telling us much there Nigel What Windows version do you have, Presume you have installed the V6 software to c:Airnav or similar.
Presume that you have installed the Flightstick drivers as well as the Zadig drivers Alan. Hi, Thanks for the reply and apologies it was a frustrated post!! Running Windows 10, v6 software is in C: flightstick drivers installed and all run as administrator.
I have a micro radarbox that runs without any problems? There should really be no problem in running it. Can you post a shot of the contents of your drivers folder Compare it to a shot of mine which runs box and both sticks and we will take it from there Alan. The ANRB drivers are for the original Radarbox The micro radarbox drivers work the original stick The Comstation drivers are not needed as you don't have a Comstation Alan The last 5 are the same as mine apart from the date, so there may be something in that, but will check them all out What is the contents of the AMD folder, mines attached.
Thanks Alan. AMD folder. Dates are the only thing different?
